Description

IT and connectivity in modern vehicles enables new applications and are part of the development of autonomous vehicles. However, new security and privacy threats arise, making security and privacy mechanisms mandatory. Hardware security is one important building block to increase security. In this presentation, we discuss the use of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 as hardware security anchor for securing modern vehicles. TPM and the accompanying TPM Software Stack 2.0 is introduced, possible integration of TPMs in E/E architectures is discussed, and several TPM-based use cases are presented.
